MAY
20th:
The
past couple of weeks have been busy and taxing. But we have all
our foals now, save one. And what a "one" to come.
LADY JOANNA, the dam of STONEBRIDGE REGAL,
was due yesterday and so we watch her closely now.
Since we last reported,
Armbro Sylvie's surrogate mare gave birth to a
very handsome Berndt Hanover colt. Armbro Sylvie,
a Pine Chip daughter of Armbro Keepsake,
is co-owned with the CSX Partnership and Bob McIntosh.
REGAL
has been prepping for the Provincial Cup eliminations, has drawn
the 2 hole and is listed at 6/5 on the morning line. He currently
is the fastest 3 year old in North America.

Three $25,000 eliminations for the 40th Annual Provincial Cup took
place on Sunday night (May 22) at Windsor Raceway.
Eight of the nine top three finishers are listed in Trot Magazine’s
2005 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book.
In the first elimination, Stonebridge Regal, listed as 25-1 in Trot's
Spring Book, and driver Jack Moiseyev were in first by the half-mile
mark to capture a 3 ¾ length victory over Mccabe Hall (40-1)
in 1.52.2.
Bob Heywood, in the last
Sportsman listed the 8 great broodmares of all time who have 2 offspring
that have paced 1:50 or better. Lady Joanna now
qualifies for that category as she has Lease On Life,
1:48.1, and Stonebridge Regal, 1:49.3. If
Regal goes under 1:49, thus producing two offspring that
race under 1:49, she will be the first broodmare to have done so
in the history of the sport.
She is in foal to ARTSPLACE
again and so is carrying a full brother or sister to Regal.

We are very pleased to welcome Dan Boers to STONEBRIDGE. Dan brings great experience along with a real caring for, and professional attitude, to the breeding business.
FRAN SEELSTER, the foundational broodmare of the farm, was bred to Artsplace for the first time last year and we hoped, against all hope, that it would be a filly. Dan called us at about 11:00 pm and invited us out to see Fran's filly. What a surprise! What a delight! What a great beginning!
Here
she is at 20 hours of age. She has that wonderful long barrel and shoulder of her dam, and the look of her sire.(A little flexed at the knees, as newborns often are, but this will loosen up within 72-96 hours). She's perfectly aligned.

MAY 1st

Special request from a
little girl (and some other cat lovers).Nothing to do with horses.
Everything to do with life on the farm - and grandbabies!
